When the Buffalo Bills traded up to select Wyoming quarterback Josh Allen, a number of evaluators questioned the decision based on Allen's collegiate production. It doesn't seem to bother general manager Brandon Beane.

Appearing on WGR-AM 550 in Buffalo, Beane said he disputes the idea Allen is a raw prospect, saying he does not agree with "so-called labels" that "national gurus" place on quarterbacks, according to ESPN's Mike Rodak.

Beane added the first-round signal-caller "was that team" at Wyoming, and "there was no way he was going to beat Iowa or Oregon with that team."

Allen also made headlines during draft week when a series of offensive tweets he sent from 2012 and 2013 were uncovered. Despite this, Beane remains confident his quarterback is not that type of person.

The general manager said the decision to draft Allen was his, but he had input from owners Terry and Kim Pegula on whether he "fit the culture."
