The Miami Dolphins have acquired defensive tackle Akeem Spence from the Detroit Lions for an undisclosed draft pick in 2019, the team announced Thursday.
The pick will be in the seventh round, according to Justin Rogers of the Detroit News.
Spence, 26, was originally drafted in the fourth round of the 2013 draft by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He spent just one season with the Lions, recording 39 combined tackles and three sacks in 16 games.
He will carry cap hits of $4.25 million in 2018 and $3.25 million in 2019, the final years of a three-year $9-million contract he signed with the Lions last offseason, according to Over The Cap.
