Rob Gronkowski is back and the New England Patriots are working on rewarding him for his loyalty.

After flirting with retirement, Gronkowski announced in late April that he's returning for the 2018 season and that the decision came after a meeting with coach Bill Belichick. Now both sides are in the process of "tweaking" his contract "to assuage that situation," Karen Guregian of the Boston Herald reports.

Since losing Super Bowl LII to the Philadelphia Eagles, Gronkowski's name has come up often in trade talks. Rumors have also circulated that the tight end and quarterback Tom Brady have grown weary of Belichick's coaching demands.

There's no denying the level of success the group has enjoyed together, however, and with Gronk under contract for two more seasons, the Patriots would like to keep the good times rolling.
