Trump to NFL players not standing for anthem: 'Maybe you shouldn't be in the country'
President Donald Trump reacted positively to the NFL's decision to enact a national anthem policy that prohibits players from protesting during the "Star-Spangled Banner," and said, "maybe you shouldn't be in the country" to those who still decide to demonstrate.
Trump also said he didn't feel players or team personnel should stay in the locker room - an option the league is giving those who don't want to stand during the anthem.
"You have to stand proudly for the National Anthem. You shouldn't be playing, you shouldn't be there. Maybe they shouldn't be in the country...the NFL owners did the right thing" -President @realDonaldTrump pic.twitter.com/bt36t4EX5u

Trump called for protesting players to be "fired" at a rally last year, leading to a league-wide protest during the anthem in Week 3.
The anthem policy appears to be an attempt to stop further attacks from the president, as one league source told the Bleacher Report's Mike Freeman that the NFL is "terrified" of Trump.
