Report: Giants fire equipment staffers after Eli Manning memorabilia lawsuit

The New York Giants have fired a number of equipment staffers following the settlement of a lawsuit in which it was alleged Eli Manning memorabilia was passed as game-worn to unsuspecting collectors.

The Giants let go of equipment director Joseph Skiba, assistant equipment director Edward Skiba, and equipment/locker room manager Ed Wagner Jr, ESPN's Jordan Raanan and Darren Rovell report. The Skiba brothers had been with the team since they were in college. Wagner worked for the Giants his entire adult life, according to The New York Times.

Memorabilia dealer Steiner Sports filed a lawsuit against the Giants, Manning, and the Skiba brothers alleging two helmets were passed off as game-worn. The matter was scheduled to go to trial before a settlement was reached on May 14.
