Richie Incognito has returned to his home in Arizona after three days in a mental hospital, the guard told The Associated Press Wednesday.

Incognito was placed on psychiatric hold after a reported altercation with another man at a Florida gym in May. In a series of text messages sent to the Associated Press, the free-agent guard said he's feeling great and resumed training in hopes of an NFL comeback.

The veteran offensive lineman focused mostly on thanking his friends and former teammates, including former Buffalo Bills center Eric Wood. He also thanked the Bills and team owners Terry and Kim Pegula for allowing him to resume his career in 2015 after spending 18 months out of the league.

Despite a bizarre offseason, which also included claims that government officials were tracking and recording him, Incognito hopes to sign with another team for the upcoming campaign.
