Ryan Miller zings Chrissy Teigen after she jokes about playing goal
A certain veteran goaltender might want to practice his blue steel.
Ryan Miller had some fun with Chrissy Teigen on Wednesday, four days after the model and "Lip Sync Battle" host fired off a playful tweet about being a netminder.
It all started on Saturday night, presumably when Teigen was watching Game 3 of the Stanley Cup Final.
I feel like can absolutely be a hockey goalie

Just talked to our GM and he wants you to come tryout. You in?

Yes WAIT TIL YOU SEE THIS. you won't regret it. I'm gonna be like that guy who tried out for the NFL at 30. What's his name...mark wahlberg.

I ran some numbers and if you lay on your side and lift your top leg up and down the entire game, you stop 99.9% of attempted goals. The rest is up to defense.

That exchange was amusing on its own, but then Miller chimed in a few days later.
First, he riffed on Teigen's initial tweet.
I feel like I can absolutely be a super model https://t.co/tGLpgW9pxd

Then, he matched her "I ran some numbers" tweet with one of his own.
I ran some numbers and if you lay on your side in an exotic location you look hot. The rest is up to the photographer. https://t.co/5cJhe3S3oW

Miller was subsequently inundated with angry replies, forcing him to follow up with a clarification that he was kidding.
But thank you to everyone who let me know so passionately that I could never be a supermodel .

Teigen also lamented the public reaction to their exchange, blaming Miller's team, the Anaheim Ducks, for exacerbating it when they chimed in with a tweet of their own.
Do not joke about men or sports, for real. Thank you for opening up my mentions to the SHAMBLES that is angry hockey fans, Anaheim Ducks! https://t.co/WGVISfIiz5

Teigen acknowledged she wasn't offended by Miller's comments, but, alas, what began as a harmless joke by her escalated into a bit of an uncomfortable situation. That's Twitter in a nutshell.
