Tom Brady refuted a suspected connection between his controversial trainer, Alex Guerrero, and the suspension to close friend and teammate Julian Edelman for a failed performance-enhancing drugs test.

"That's just ridiculous," an agitated Brady said Saturday at training camp before ending his session with reporters, per Mike Petraglia of CLNS Media Network.

Guerrero, known for his unconventional training methods that have helped extend Brady's career into his 40s, worked with Edelman during the receiver's rehab from a torn ACL suffered last August.

The relationship between Brady and Guerrero has drawn scrutiny in the past. New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick has reportedly tried to limit Guerrero's involvement with other players.

For his part, Edelman told reporters he hasn't lost any faith in Guerrero and holds himself responsible for the failed drug test.

"I love Alex," Edelman said, according to James Palmer of NFL Network. "Ultimately, I'm worried about just going out here and playing football."

He continued: "It's disappointing with the penalty and the findings. I'm definitely accountable for that. But ultimately, my focus is going out and trying to work my knee, get better each day."

Edelman will miss the first four games of the regular season.
