Leave it to Josh Norman to give a simple answer to how the NFL should handle President Donald Trump's criticisms on anthem protocol: ignore him.

The brash Washington Redskins corner insists it's in the league's best interest to not acknowledge Trump's tweets and carry on with a business formula that will continue to pay dividends in spite of the president's added controversies.

"You continue to do what you do, because guess what, you have a product, and that product is f---ing banking. It's the No. 2 product in the world outside of soccer - you cannot beat it. Those checks will keep coming regardless of what you do," Norman said to Kevin Clark of The Ringer.

"I wouldn't tell them to do a f---ing thing. This guy is going to be out of office in two years. I think we'll be OK."

Trump recently took aim at the league after various forms of protest took place during the playing of the national anthem in Week 1 of the preseason.

Norman reiterated the effect that a battle with the president could have on the NFL's bottom line shouldn't be a concern to league executives.

"Trust me: The accounts will be fine. I wouldn't put emphasis on it. Because the fans are going to come. It's not like you've got scabs on the field like in 1987," he said. "So that if it's a down year? Who gives a f---? Next year you'll be great. It's not going to catastrophically disappear because one guy said something."
