Perens: Intel Publishes Microcode Security Patches, No Benchmarking Or Comparison Allowed

Bruce Perens looksat the license agreement for Intel's latest CPU microcode update anddoes not like what he sees. "So, lots of people are interested inthe speed penalty incurred in the microcode fixes, and Intel has nowattempted to gag anyone who would collect information for reporting aboutthose penalties, through a restriction in their license. Bad move."

Update: Intel has since taken out the objectionable terms.
