Robert Griffin III's attempt to complete his NFL comeback will come down to his performance against the team his career famously started and fizzled with: the Washington Redskins.

Griffin is looking to crack the Baltimore Ravens' roster as a third quarterback after being out of professional football last year. Despite a strong preseason, his work is still cut out for him considering the Ravens haven't kept three quarterbacks on their roster since 2009.

"There's no pressure," Griffin said of Thursday night's contest, according to Pro Football Talk's Mike Florio. "I should say there is no pressure that I'm going to apply to myself to go out and perform like I have been and I know how, and the coaches have taught me within the system.

"I know the team we'll be facing is my former team that I played for and was drafted by. There will probably be a storyline around that. But aside from that, it's just go out, play ball and have fun, and continue to do what we've been doing, and let the coaches make the decisions at the end of the day."

Griffin entered the league as the No. 2 overall pick of the Redskins in 2012. He was named Offensive Rookie of the Year after his first season, but his fallout with the team after that was far more memorable than his peak.

"Thursday's going to be big," Ravens coach John Harbaugh acknowledged. "It's going to be an opportunity once again for those guys. We'll find out who is going to be on our team."

Harbaugh said Friday that the decision on Griffin will go down "right to the wire."

In three preseason contests with Baltimore, Griffin has completed 20 of 30 passes for 185 yards with a touchdown and no turnovers. He's also flashed the escapability from the pocket that made him a star his maiden season in Washington.

The Ravens already have two quarterbacks locked into roster spots, with Joe Flacco and first-round pick Lamar Jackson guaranteed to make the team.
