Eagles' Pederson: Wentz not yet cleared for contact
by Alex Chippin from on (#3XHJS)
Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz hasn't been cleared for contact yet as his recovery from a torn ACL continues, head coach Doug Pederson said Sunday, according to Jeff McLane of The Philadelphia Enquirer.
Wentz was given the green light to begin participating in 11-on-11 drills a week ago, which marked another step forward in his rehab. He's been splitting first-team reps in practice with Nick Foles.
Foles is expected to start in place of Wentz, but he's looked shaky throughout the preseason.
The Eagles are slated to kick off the regular season Sept. 6 versus the Atlanta Falcons.
