Doug Pederson refused to divulge who's starting at quarterback when the Philadelphia Eagles open their season, but the head coach did acknowledge Sunday that Carson Wentz still isn't cleared for contact, according to NJ.com's Zack Rosenblatt.

A report Saturday suggested that the Eagles plan to start Nick Foles at quarterback when they begin their Super Bowl title defense Thursday against the Atlanta Falcons.

Pederson didn't seem to particularly appreciate that report:

Wentz is still recovering from the torn ACL he suffered late last year. Foles steered Philly to Super Bowl glory in place of Wentz, but didn't look sharp in the preseason.

The Eagles released Christian Hackenberg during the final round of roster cuts, leaving Nate Sudfeld as the only alternative to Wentz and Foles.
