Report: McCoy not expected to be charged in home invasion

Buffalo Bills running back LeSean McCoy is not expected to be charged following an investigation into a home invasion at a Georgia property he owns - which led to his ex-girlfriend being hospitalized - as police lack enough evidence, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.

McCoy is also unlikely to be suspended by the NFL, Rapoport added, though it remains under "active review," a source told Adam Schefter of ESPN. Barring an unforeseen development, McCoy should be able to play the 2018 season.

McCoy's former girlfriend, Delicia Cordon, was living at the property when the incident occurred and filed a personal injury lawsuit against the star running back after suffering multiple injuries in the assault.

The lawsuit claimed McCoy and his former college teammate Tamarcus Porter "are liable for the assault, battery, and intentional infliction of emotional distress suffered" by Cordon after McCoy changed the home's security codes.

McCoy has vehemently denied the accusations.

The runner is set to start for the Bills in Sunday's season opener against the Baltimore Ravens.
