Buffalo Bills running back Chris Ivory is inspiring the NFL to revisit rules that currently allow players to be tackled by their hair after he was hauled down by Jadeveon Clowney in the backfield during the Bills' Week 6 loss to the Houston Texans.

Al Riveron, the league's senior vice president of officiating, said the issue will be readdressed in the offseason after being passed over a few years ago.

"He gets tackled by the hair. Right now, this is legal. This was brought up to the competition committee a couple of years ago and to the Players Association. And they decided at that time not to do anything about it," Riveron said. "But again, we're going to bring it up again this year and talk to the Players Association and the competition committee, and see if there's any interest in having a rule change when it comes to this situation."
