Tampa Bay Buccaneers linebacker Kwon Alexander suffered a torn ACL during Sunday's game against the Cleveland Browns, a source told NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

The Buccaneers previously feared Alexander had suffered a torn ACL but were awaiting an MRI to confirm the severity of the injury.

It's a crushing loss for the Buccaneers, as Alexander is one of the key components of their defense alongside Lavonte David and Gerald McCoy.

The 24-year-old linebacker, who was named to his first Pro Bowl in 2017, was reportedly negotiating a new contract with the team prior to Sunday's game.

Alexander recorded 45 tackles, a sack, and two forced fumbles in six games this season.
