On Monday, the Dallas Cowboys traded their first-round selection in next year's NFL draft to the Oakland Raiders for struggling wideout Amari Cooper, a former first-round pick himself.

The internet quickly went into a frenzy upon learning of the deal, with the overwhelming majority of reactions believing the Raiders came away with a major win.

A what-round pick? I think you have a typo there, Adam. https://t.co/wr1EZdaj6O

Getting a first-round pick for Cooper is solid, if that was the straight-up deal.

But tell me again how trading away all your best players for future draft picks means you're NOT taking away a season?

- Tim Kawakami (@timkawakami) October 22, 2018

If you called 31 teams and said "give me a receiver for a first round pick," you would probably get offered like 10 better than Amari Cooper in the first hour.

Can he coach, too? https://t.co/wK1As7unnh

- Chris Wesseling (@ChrisWesseling) October 22, 2018

So the Raiders have their own first-round pick, the Cowboys' first-round pick and the Bears' first-round pick in 2019, and their own first-round pick and the Bears' first-round pick in 2020

Derek Carr is not the QB of the future, methinks.

- Ryan Burns (@FtblSickness) October 22, 2018

If Amari Cooper is worth a first-round selection, then Patrick Peterson should require a draft equivalent of Powerball to acquire.

- Rich Eisen (@richeisen) October 22, 2018

So Amari Cooper was a first round pick. He's had 2 incredibly drop-filled seasons, hasn't produced since 2016 and is under contract for a year-and-a-half.

How was a first round pick even a starting point for compensation talks? This is insane

- Jon Ledyard (@LedyardNFLDraft) October 22, 2018

The #Raiders should send Derek Carr to the Jaguars for a couple picks and #TrustTheProcess.

- Hayden Winks (@HaydenWinks) October 22, 2018

Only two receivers last year had drop rates over 12%: Dez Bryant and Amari Cooper.

- Kevin Clark (@bykevinclark) October 22, 2018

I like Amari Cooper, but I'm stunned anybody would give up a 1st round pick for a guy with that many drops.

- Andrew Siciliano (@AndrewSiciliano) October 22, 2018

For his final trick, Gruden will trade himself
