Janoris Jenkins is eager to stay with the New York Giants beyond the Oct. 30 trade deadline, though he acknowledged Thursday that he could be the next veteran sent packing.

"I want to be here," the cornerback told reporters, via Art Stapleton of NorthJersey.com, before admitting he's seen his name in trade rumors. "Business is business."

Jenkins is believed to be a top candidate to be traded, as the Giants seem ready to begin a rebuild. New York has already shipped two notable defenders out of town, sending cornerback Eli Apple to the New Orleans Saints and defensive tackle Damon Harrison to the Detroit Lions.

Unloading Jenkins would provide the Giants with significant salary relief. The 29-year-old has two seasons left on the five-year, $62-million contract he inked ahead of his Pro Bowl campaign in 2016.

Jenkins would bring a steadying presence to any team that acquires him. He's posted 33 tackles, six pass-breakups, and two interceptions over seven outings with the Giants this year.

Along with Jenkins, Giants pass-rusher Olivier Vernon is also expected to be a popular name in trade talks.
