Richard Sherman expects to remain a 49er past trade deadline

NFL teams preparing for a run at the Super Bowl could be eyeing San Francisco 49ers cornerback Richard Sherman ahead of the Oct. 30 trade deadline, but he doesn't see a deal happening.

When addressing the possibility of being traded, Sherman, who represents himself, joked, "They haven't reached out to my agent."

With the deadline looming, the New York Giants and Oakland Raiders have already unloaded players for future assets.

The 49ers have a 1-6 record, but Sherman doesn't see himself leaving the team anytime soon.

"They've said since I've come here, I'm part of the future plans," he said. "At least for the next couple years, and that's the way I see it."

The four-time Pro Bowler missed last week with a calf injury but is "pretty sure" he will play against the Arizona Cardinals, according to The Athletic's David Lombardi.

Sherman signed a three-year, $39-million deal with the 49ers in early March.
