Oakland Raiders cornerback Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie announced his retirement from the NFL on Tuesday.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport confirmed the news.

Rodgers-Cromartie was selected 16th overall in the 2008 NFL Draft by the Arizona Cardinals. He also played for the Philadelphia Eagles, Denver Broncos, and New York Giants, and then signed a one-year, $630,000 contract with the Raiders in August.

The 11-year veteran appeared in all seven games this season but made just one start. He forced a fumble and recorded two passes defensed.

He had 30 interceptions, seven forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries, and seven defensive touchdowns over 160 career regular-season games. He added another three interceptions in 10 playoff games.
