Tannehill ruled out for 4th straight game, surgery not being considered

Miami Dolphins head coach Adam Gase has ruled out quarterback Ryan Tannehill for Sunday's game against the New York Jets, according to Armando Salguero of the Miami Herald.
Gase added that surgery on Tannehill's injured shoulder hasn't been considered. The 30-year-old has resumed throwing with trainers.
The Dolphins started the 2018 season with three consecutive wins, but they've gone just 1-4 over their last five games. Brock Osweiler, Tannehill's replacement, has led the team to a 1-2 record in three starts.
Osweiler has completed 64.1 percent of his pass attempts on the season while throwing for 895 yards, with six touchdowns and three interceptions.
Tannehill has played just five games since Week 14 of the 2016 campaign. He carries a cap hit of $8.7 million this season, with two more years remaining on his contract at values of $26.6 million in 2019 and $25.1 million in 2020.
