A.J. Green doesn't need toe surgery, will reportedly miss 2 games
Cincinnati Bengals head coach Marvin Lewis said Monday that star wide receiver A.J. Green won't require surgery on his injured toe, as relayed by WKRC-TV's Richard Skinner.
Lewis added that he's unsure when Green will be able to suit up, but Skinner noted it doesn't sound like a lengthy absence. Meanwhile, ESPN's Adam Schefter reported that the wideout's expected to miss at least two games before doctors re-evaluate the injury.
Green did not practice Monday as the Bengals prepare to face the red-hot New Orleans Saints in Week 10.
The seven-time Pro Bowler has accumulated 45 receptions, 687 yards, and six touchdowns in eight games this season.
With Green out, Tyler Boyd and John Ross could see an increase in targets. Meanwhile, the 5-3 Bengals sit second in the AFC North standings as they get set for the latter half of the schedule.
