Falcons owner believes in Quinn: 'Our coach is not the problem'

The Atlanta Falcons' season is all but over after a Thanksgiving beatdown by the NFC South rival New Orleans Saints, but the team's ownership apparently has no issues with head coach Dan Quinn's leadership.
"We love our coach," owner Arthur Blank told ESPN's Vaughn McClure. "Our coach is not the problem."
Thursday's 31-17 loss dropped the Falcons to 4-7. Atlanta started 1-4 amid a rash of injuries, including ones to Pro Bowlers Devonta Freeman, Keanu Neal, and Deion Jones, but managed to rattle off three wins before again succumbing to a losing streak that has likely ended its playoff hopes.
While Blank acknowledged the impact of losing key starters on each side of the ball, the 76-year-old doesn't accept that it was the main factor in Atlanta's struggles.
"It's a reason, but it's not an excuse," Blank said of the injuries. "That's what the coach would tell you. That's what the players would tell you. There have been some crippling injuries, but other guys have stepped up and played the best they can. Some cases, that's good enough. In some cases, not quite."
Quinn led the Falcons to two consecutive double-digit win seasons prior to this year and reached Super Bowl in 2016.
Atlanta extended its head coach, along with general manager Thomas Dimitroff, through the 2022 season in July.
