Eagles' top 4 CBs miss practice Friday, 3 ruled out vs. Giants
The Philadelphia Eagles are severely banged up at the cornerback position heading into their Week 11 divisional tilt.
Jalen Mills, Sidney Jones, Avonte Maddox, and Rasul Douglas were absent from Friday's practice, according to NJ.com's Zack Rosenblatt. The Eagles officially ruled out Mills, Maddox, and Jones against the New York Giants and Douglas is listed as questionable.
Mills is still considered week to week with a foot injury. Jones aggravated his hamstring knock in Philadelphia's Week 10 loss to the New Orleans Saints. Maddox and Douglas are nursing knee ailments.
With Ronald Darby out for the season with a torn ACL, the Eagles will likely be without their top five cornerbacks against New York and star receiver Odell Beckham Jr.
Chandon Sullivan, De'Vante Bausby, and Cre'Von LeBlanc are the only healthy cornerbacks currently on Philadelphia's active roster and could all see significant playing time in Week 11. Defensive coordinator Jim Schwartz could also use safeties Malcolm Jenkins and Corey Graham to cover the slot.
The Eagles currently have the NFL's 27th-ranked pass defense, allowing 276.5 yards per game through the air.
