Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz has not fully recovered from the torn ACL and LCL he suffered in December 2017, a source with direct knowledge of his rehab told NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

The passer isn't the same quarterback who starred last season, and the source maintains it's due to Wentz being unable to plant hard on his left leg. He's said to be taking "baby steps" and appears tentative with his left foot when stepping into a throw or scrambling.

Rapoport added that the injury requires at least a year to fully heal. The former No. 2 overall pick will be able to shed his knee brace next season.

Wentz has completed 69.5 percent of his passes in 2018 for 2,304 yards, 15 touchdowns, and six interceptions. In 13 starts last year, he threw for 33 scores to just seven interceptions.

The Eagles have struggled after winning Super Bowl LII, losing three of their last four games and dropping to 4-6.
