Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Andy Dalton was diagnosed with a sprained thumb after being forced from Sunday's game against the Cleveland Browns early in the second half, according to Charean Williams of Pro Football Talk.

Results of X-rays on Dalton's right thumb came back negative. Following the 35-20 loss, head coach Marvin Lewis said the issue isn't believed to be long term. Dalton will undergo more tests on Monday.

The veteran had completed 10 of 17 pass attempts for 100 yards with one touchdown and an interception prior to his departure.

Jeff Driskel replaced Dalton for the Bengals' second drive of the third quarter. He finished his appearance 17 of 29 for 155 yards and one interception while scoring a rushing touchdown.
