Palawan, Philippines report resurgence in malaria in 2018

After reporting a significant decline in malaria cases from 2015 through 2017, Philippine health officials have seen a resurgence in the mosquito-borne parasitic infection in 2018. Through Nov. 16 this year, Palawan has reported 4,162 cases (some 300 cases higher than last year), with the town of Rizal accounting for 65 percent of the total (2,718). ["]
