Dez Bryant has spoken out in support of Kareem Hunt after the Kansas City Chiefs released the running back following the emergence of a video from a February incident in which he is shown kicking and shoving a woman.

In a since-deleted Instagram post, Bryant said he doesn't support domestic violence, but called for further information on the incident in a Cleveland hotel before signing off with, "Nobody is perfect. Team Kareem."

Bryant's post was taken down within 15 minutes, but the New Orleans Saints wideout defended his stance on Twitter:

I made it clear I don't support domestic violence.. I believe we should make this issue bigger than the video that's being surfaced around.. being provoked is a big issue.. especially for stars ..if we don't learn to help and support others it stays a cycle https://t.co/fKcAgKGiAy

The NFL's reigning rushing champion was waived after the NFL placed him on the commissioner's exempt list. The Chiefs said Hunt lied about the incident in February.

"Earlier this year, we were made aware of an incident involving running back Kareem Hunt. At that time, the National Football League and law enforcement initiated investigations into the issue," the Chiefs said. "As part of our internal discussions with Kareem, several members of our management team spoke directly to him. Kareem was not truthful in those discussions."

Bryant's season is over after he tore his Achilles in one of his first practices with the Saints.
