Eli Manning's future with the New York Giants has been a routinely debated topic, but after the team stumbled to a 17-0 loss to the Tennessee Titans, the veteran quarterback received a vote of confidence from head coach Pat Shurmur.

Shurmur was asked if Manning has years left as a starter, which he simply responded "Yeah, I do," according to Ralph Vacchiano of SNY.

"I want all our players to be back. I believe experience matters," Shurmur said.

Manning has completed 65.9 percent of his passes for 18 touchdowns against nine interceptions for the 5-9 Giants, who sit in the NFC East basement.

Alex Tanney and 2018 fourth-round pick Kyle Lauletta round out the Giants' depth chart at quarterback but neither player is considered a viable long-term option at this juncture.

It may be a tough proposition for some Giants fans to stomach, but the 37-year-old may end up retaining his spot as the incumbent starter for the 2019 season, provided the team doesn't use some of their draft capital on Manning's eventual replacement.
