Today's competitive cyclist benefits from more lightweight, aerodynamic and rigid bike models - and, in a similar way, the prototyping process for manufacturers has become less of a heavy load - in terms of both time and cost - thanks to technological advances in simulation software. "Wind tunnel analyses are very important, but they can be expensive, time consuming and you need to have the athlete available. So, although they are extremely important for the validation of the model, a combination of wind analysis and CFD simulation might be extremely useful."
