Former New York Giants general manager Jerry Reese turned down the Oakland Raiders' request to interview him for their GM vacancy, league sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Reese, who was fired by the Giants last year, reportedly declined the invitation due to concerns about working with head coach Jon Gruden, who has significant say over personnel decision thanks to his 10-year, $100-million contract.

His concern is apparently one shared by other GM candidates around the league.

Gruden continued to reshape their franchise this week, as sources told Schefter that the head coach fired head strength and conditioning coach Tom Shaw, whom he hired upon taking the Raiders job.

Oakland parted ways with Reggie McKenzie earlier this month after seven years. In doing so, the Raiders reduced the amount of minority general managers to just Chris Grier of the Miami Dolphins, as Ozzie Newsome of the Baltimore Ravens will step down at the end of this season.
