Report: Packers interview Caldwell, Pagano for HC vacancy
The Green Bay Packers appear to be neck deep in their head coaching search.
Green Bay has interviewed former Detroit Lions and Indianapolis Colts coach Jim Caldwell, multiple league sources told Pro Football Talk's Mike Florio.
The Packers have also interviewed another former Colt in Chuck Pagano, sources told Tom Silverstein of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.
Caldwell and Pagano are the first names connected to Green Bay's head coaching vacancy since the team fired Mike McCarthy earlier in December. He was the second-longest tenured head coach in team history.
Joe Philbin is serving as the Packers' interim head coach for the remainder of the 2018 season.
Caldwell has compiled a 62-50 record during the regular season, going 2-4 in the postseason. He led the Colts from 2009-11, and the Lions from 2014-17, spending time with the Baltimore Ravens as offensive coordinator in between.
Pagano accumulated a 53-43 record across six seasons in Indianapolis, leading his team to the AFC Championship game during the 2014 season.
Green Bay's coaching vacancy is expected to be one of the most sought-after positions in recent memory, despite the team struggling to a 6-8-1 record this season.
