Cardi B won't perform at SB LIII halftime show in support of Kaepernick
Cardi B will not be joining Maroon 5 at the Super Bowl LIII halftime show.
A representative for the rapper told Page Six's Emily Smith that while there were talks about her potentially performing at the show, she wasn't interested due to her support of Colin Kaepernick.
"The rumor circulating that she wants a million dollars and she wants her own set is false," the representative said. "There was never a firm offer to begin with for a performance. There (were) talks about it, but she was not particularly interested in participating because of how she feels about Colin Kaepernick and the whole movement ... But again, there was never a solid offer for her to say yes or no to regarding the Super Bowl. She is already confirmed to do a set with Bruno Mars that weekend."
Cardi previously said that she would only perform at the halftime show when "they hire Colin Kaepernick back."
US Weekly reported earlier this month that Maroon 5 was having trouble finding guests for the halftime show because "no one wants to associate themselves with the NFL" due to its treatment of Kaepernick. Travis Scott has reportedly agreed to perform, though Jay-Z is reportedly trying to talk him out of it.
