Eight NFL teams are without a head coach following one of the darkest Black Mondays in recent memory.

The Miami Dolphins, Cincinnati Bengals, Denver Broncos, and Arizona Cardinals all made coaching changes Monday after the New York Jets and Tampa Bay Buccaneers did their business Sunday evening. The Green Bay Packers and Cleveland Browns made in-season firings and finished the campaign with interim head coaches.

The eight vacancies mark the most the NFL has had since 2013. Five of the eight head coaches fired in 2018 are minorities. Anthony Lynn of the Los Angeles Chargers, Ron Rivera of the Carolina Panthers, and Mike Tomlin of the Pittsburgh Steelers are the only remaining minority head coaches in the league.

Elsewhere, the Atlanta Falcons retained head coach Dan Quinn but fired all three coordinators after going 7-9 and missing the playoffs for the first time since 2015.

No general managers were fired despite the coaching carnage directly beneath them. One was hired, though, as the Oakland Raiders appointed former NFL Network draft analyst Mike Mayock to the role.
