Report: Buccaneers, Arians heading toward deal
Bruce Arians appears to be the front-runner for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers' head coaching vacancy.
While Arians and the Buccaneers have yet to agree on a contract, all signs point to the two parties finalizing a deal in the near future, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports.
The 66-year-old has been linked to Tampa Bay's head coaching vacancy over the last week and interviewed with the team Saturday.
Arians had previously said the Cleveland Browns' job would be the only one that could draw him out of retirement, but the Buccaneers' opening has evidently piqued his interest.
After firing head coach Dirk Koetter on Dec. 30, the Buccaneers have eyed a slew of potential replacements, including Kansas City Chiefs offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy and Minnesota Vikings defensive coordinator George Edwards.
The team was also in Dallas last week speaking with Cowboys defensive backs coach Kris Richard. He was the Bucs' last known interview.
Tampa Bay intends to make a decision in the coming days.
