Report: Kitchens, Stefanski finalists for Browns job
The Cleveland Browns have identified in-house candidate Freddie Kitchens and Minnesota Vikings offensive coordinator Kevin Stefanski as finalists for their head coaching job, reports Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.
It's unclear whether there are any additional finalists.
Kitchens became a fan favorite in Cleveland after the Browns' offense improved with him calling plays down the stretch of the season. He replaced fired offensive coordinator Todd Haley.
Stefanski also finished the season calling plays after the Vikings dismissed offensive coordinator John DeFilippo late in the year. Stefanski is believed to be a candidate for the full-time offensive coordinator position with Minnesota, though his contract expires Tuesday.
The Browns finished the season with a 7-8-1 record. They went 5-3 down the stretch under interim head coach Gregg Williams.
