Report: Bowles being considered for Bears' DC job, hasn't signed with Bucs
Todd Bowles remains a wanted man around the league.
The former New York Jets head coach is being considered as an option to replace Vic Fangio as Chicago Bears defensive coordinator and hasn't yet signed a contract with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, league sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter.
Reports emerged Tuesday that Bowles would be joining new head coach Bruce Arians' staff in Tampa Bay.
Bowles has ties to Matt Nagy as the Bears head coach's father taught Bowles in high school, Schefter notes.
Fangio, who led the Bears' No. 1 scoring defense in 2018, was reportedly hired as Denver Broncos head coach Wednesday.
Bowles worked under Arians as Arizona Cardinals defensive coordinator in 2013 and 2014 before being hired as Jets head coach.
