Report: Chargers source says 'no way' home AFC title game would be moved
There is "no way" the NFL would move the AFC title game if the Los Angeles Chargers host the contest, a team source told Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk.
It was previously reported by Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports that concerns about the Chargers hosting the AFC championship in a 30,000-seat venue could prompt the NFL to relocate the game from Dignity Health Sports Park.
The stadium would house the conference title bout only if the fifth-seeded Chargers and sixth-seeded Indianapolis Colts advance past the AFC Divisional Round.
If the Chargers end up hosting the AFC Championship Game, La Canfora reported the league has considered moving the contest to the L.A. Memorial Coliseum, where the Los Angeles Rams play.
But the Chargers' contract with AEG requires a home playoff game to be played at the team's home stadium, according to Florio.
