Report: Browns land Todd Monken as OC
The Cleveland Browns have agreed to terms with Todd Monken to become their new offensive coordinator, a source told Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.
Monken spent the last three seasons as the Tampa Bay Buccaneers' offensive coordinator, helping to create one of the league's top offensive units in 2018.
Despite the Bucs switching between Ryan Fitzpatrick and Jameis Winston throughout the season, Monken's offense averaged the third-most yards in the league and was 12th in points per game.
Monken's love of the deep ball - only the Kansas City Chiefs had more 20-yard-plus pass plays than the Buccaneers - should mesh well with the aggressive styles of head coach Freddie Kitchens and quarterback Baker Mayfield.
Kitchens has already hired former Arizona Cardinals head coach Steve Wilks as the team's defensive coordinator, giving Cleveland an experienced coordinator duo to help the team's first-year coach.
