Fan banned for life from Arrowhead Stadium for shining laser at Brady

The fan who flashed a laser on New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady during the AFC Championship Game received a lifetime ban from Arrowhead Stadium and will face charges from the Kansas City district attorney, sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter.

While the police department initially suggested citing the fan with disorderly conduct, Chiefs officials felt those charges weren't severe enough and are pushing for the "harshest penalty possible" as a deterrent to future incidents.

New England defeated Kansas City 37-31 in overtime.

The NFL confirmed on Jan. 22 that it was investigating the incident.

Security will be searching for lasers ahead of Super Bowl LIII at Atlanta's Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
