Super Bowl LIII drew an average of 98.2 million viewers during Sunday's broadcast and a 41.1 household rating, according to the Nielsen ratings, via John Ourand of the Sports Business Journal.

Nielsen reported that 67 percent of U.S. homes with televisions in use watched the Super Bowl, while ESPN Deportes drew 473,000 viewers.

We still don't know what the Super Bowl averaged on CBS alone, but it seems likely to be under 100M. The number for CBS + CBS Interactive + NFL digital properties + Verizon Media mobile properties + ESPN Deportes television and digital properties = 100.7M.

That viewership is down significantly from 2018 when an estimated 103.4 million people watched the Philadelphia Eagles beat the New England Patriots.

Nielsen also recorded social media engagement figures, which reached 32.3 million interactions over Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter.

The Patriots emerged with a 13-3 victory over the Los Angeles Rams, the sixth title in franchise history.
