Impending free agent Frank Gore intends to return for his 15th season in the NFL, a source told the Miami Herald's Barry Jackson.

However, the Miami Dolphins are uncertain whether they will retain the running back, a team source told Jackson. Gore's reportedly willing to play for another team if the Dolphins aren't interested.

Gore signed a one-year, $1-million deal in March 2018, and he'll turn 36 in May. He started 14 games in Miami before suffering a sprained foot near the end of the season. He had 722 rushing yards and 124 receiving yards while splitting carries with Kenyan Drake.

The running back spent 10 seasons with the San Francisco 49ers and three with the Indianapolis Colts before joining the Dolphins.

Gore is currently fourth in all-time rushing yards with 14,748. He trails Emmitt Smith (18,355), Walter Payton (16,726), and Barry Sanders (15,269).
