Report: Bucs shopping DeSean Jackson
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are shopping wide receiver DeSean Jackson on the trade market, with the Philadelphia Eagles believed to be his preferred landing spot, sources told Jenna Laine and Tim McManus of ESPN.
Jackson reportedly requested a trade before the deadline in October, though the Buccaneers ultimately did not deal him. While the team would prefer to move him via trade, other teams believe it's likely Jackson will be released, Laine and McManus report.
The three-time Pro Bowler has one year remaining on the three-year, $33.5-million contract he signed in 2017, though the $10 million he is due in 2019 is not guaranteed.
Jackson started off hot last season, topping the 100-yard mark in three of his first four games, but failed to hit triple digits for the rest of the campaign as he battled injuries. The 32-year-old wideout finished 2018 with 774 yards and four touchdowns.
The Eagles are expected to have interest in Jackson, according to Laine and McManus, though they may prefer to wait to see if he is released. Philadelphia originally drafted Jackson in the second round of the 2008 NFL Draft and he had six productive seasons there before he was released in 2014 by then-head coach Chip Kelly. He subsequently signed with the Washington Redskins.
