The Cleveland Browns will add to their already stacked defensive line once free agency officially begins, as Sheldon Richardson intends to sign a three-year contract with the club, a source told ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Richardson will earn $39 million on his new contract, including $21.5 million guaranteed, Schefter adds.

The interior defender spent the 2018 season with the Minnesota Vikings, accumulating 49 tackles and 4.5 sacks playing in the middle of a talented front four.

A former first-round pick of the New York Jets, Richardson won Defensive Rookie of the Year in 2013 and was named to the Pro Bowl in 2014.

The 28-year-old's addition will round out a star-studded defensive line for defensive coordinator Steve Wilks. Richardson will join Larry Ogunjobi at defensive tackle, with Myles Garrett and soon-to-be-acquired Olivier Vernon on the edge.
