The Green Bay Packers reportedly landed three prominent defensive free agents Tuesday by agreeing to terms with edge defenders Preston Smith and Za'Darius Smith and safety Adrian Amos.

The moves buck the longstanding trend of Green Bay being a marginal player in free agency. General manager Brian Gutekunst vowed to be more aggressive in the open market than predecessor Ted Thompson when he inherited the job 14 months ago.

Preston Smith will sign a four-year, $52-million contract with the Packers after four years with the Washington Redskins, according to ESPN's Josina Anderson. He tallied four sacks last season, but generated a more impressive 53 pressures, according to Pro Football Focus.

He'll be accompanied by Za'Darius Smith, who's coming off a four-year stint with the Baltimore Ravens. The 27-year-old will sign a four-year deal worth $66 million, a source told Ian Rapoport of NFL Network. He posted 10 sacks with 61 pressures in 2018, per PFF.

Amos will join the Packers after playing four years for the NFC North rival Chicago Bears. He'll receive a four-year, $47-million deal, a source told ESPN's Adam Schefter. The safety collected 73 tackles, one sack, and two interceptions last year, contributing to one of the league's most dominant defences. His contract was first reported by NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

On the offensive side of the ball, Green Bay agreed to a four-year, $28-million deal with former Denver Broncos offensive lineman Billy Turner, a source told ESPN's Adam Schefter.
