Report: Manning being courted for Monday Night Football job
It appears ESPN is trying to lure Peyton Manning into the booth.
Company president Jimmy Pitaro and content chief Connor Schell traveled to Denver last week in an attempt to court the former quarterback as an analyst for its Monday Night Football team, according to Marisa Guthrie of The Hollywood Reporter.
ESPN is looking to replace Jason Witten, who ended his retirement and time in the Monday Night Football booth after one year to rejoin the Dallas Cowboys.
It's currently unclear whether Manning is interested in pursuing a broadcasting career at this time. He has experience analyzing players and breaking down plays for the ESPN+ show "Detail" and has appeared on a number of commercials following his retirement.
