by Alex Chippin from on (#4BJXA)
Veteran guard T.J. Lang is expected to retire from the NFL as early as Friday, the Detroit Free Press' Dave Birkett reports.
Lang was released by the Lions on March 8 following his second season with the team. His tenure in Detroit was preceded by an eight-year stint with the Green Bay Packers.
The 31-year-old reportedly told people close to him he "definitely" played his last NFL game.
Lang was selected to the Pro Bowl in 2016 as a member of the Packers and in 2017 with the Lions. Injuries limited him to six games last season.
A standout at Eastern Michigan during his college days, Lang won a Super Bowl with the Packers in 2010.
