Nelson: It would 'be hard to say no' if Rodgers asked me to return

Although Jordy Nelson is retired, he could be persuaded into playing again by an old friend.

The former Green Bay Packers wide receiver, who hung up his cleats last week after 11 years, teased interest in a reunion with his former team Wednesday on "The Dan Patrick Show."

"(If Aaron Rodgers called) it would probably be hard to say no," Nelson said.

Rodgers and Nelson formed one of the league's most formidable duos for a decade, breaking the Packers' record for most touchdowns by a receiver-quarterback combination with 65.

The veteran pass-catcher was released March 2018 after he and Green Bay couldn't come to an agreement on a pay cut for the final year of his contract. At the time, the two-time NFL MVP made it clear he wasn't happy about losing his most reliable target.

Nelson joined the Oakland Raiders but was released following a slew of additions at the position this offseason.
