A one-sided Game 7 between the Vegas Golden Knights and San Jose Sharks suddenly turned into one of the most memorable series finales in NHL history during a frantic third period.

Down 3-0, the Sharks stormed back to take a 4-3 lead over Vegas with four goals during a five-minute major to Cody Eakin.

Social media users couldn't believe their eyes:

Meanwhile the Knights-Sharks Game 7 is on crack

This reminds me of the first NHL playoff game I covered as an LA Times columnist. Kings were up 3-0 on Blues, about to win their first playoff game since the McSorley stick incident. Then they got a 5-minute major penalty...

The Sharks just had the most powerful power play in the history of both power and play. It's like someone gave Doug Wilson all the Infinity Stones, and put them in the glowing briefcase from Pulp Fiction.

The Golden Knights weren't going away quietly, though, as Jonathan Marchessault tied it 4-4 with under a minute left in the third to send Game 7 to overtime.

It was 3-0
It was 4-3
It is 4-4

Well, this is one of the best periods of hockey I've ever seen.
