NFL files trademark for Duluth Eskimos
The NFL filed a trademark application for the word mark Duluth Eskimos on April 25, trademark attorney Josh Gerben reported.
Duluth is a city in Minnesota that's located on the shores of Lake Superior. The Eskimos played in the NFL from 1926 to 1927.
Gerben believes the NFL - which is entering its 100th season - could be preparing to feature the Duluth Eskimos as a throwback look for the Minnesota Vikings in a game this year.

The trademark application suggests that a NFL team could play a game as the DULUTH ESKIMOS this coming year.

In recent years, the NFL has prohibited teams from using more than one helmet, which limits their ability to feature throwback looks.
